We are excited to launch what we believe will be the future of Asbestos Surveying;
Asbestos data embedded into a 360 walk-through of a surveyed property.
At ABS, we are always looking for ways to improve our client’s experience; ranging from reducing turnaround times on reports and proposals to opening our own UKAS accredited laboratory for full quality control.
With our new virtual 360 walk-through service, we believe we have raised the bar on how to communicate asbestos risks in a clear, easy-to-understand format within a property or portfolio of any size.
Key features
Below are some of the key benefits of using a 360 walk-through in conjunction with an Asbestos Survey to better communicate any asbestos risks to the user.
A 360 virtual walk-through can be used to highlight all identified and presumed Asbestos Containing Materials throughout a property. This can highlight both the sample point, as well as indicate the full extent of each material across the property.
This service can also add additional information and notes to the user, including any recommendations or access restrictions that may also be kept within a wider Asbestos Report.
Many Asbestos Consultancies produce survey reports with basic 2D plans, simply highlighting sample points and hatching areas if they contain any form of asbestos.
We have always believed that this is not enough information, and instead opt to colour-code our plans with various hatchings and highlighted lines to indicate different products and help the user identify any suspect materials.
However through the use of a 360 walk-through, we are able to take this one step further and let you see exactly what products contain asbestos within a building – the way that you know it.
Embedded within all 360 walk-throughs will be a hyperlink to our client portal that contains all asbestos technical data for each sample point.
By selecting the hyperlink at each sample-point, the user will be directed to the risk assessment score and recommendation for each asbestos item.
Through this feature we are able to make the management of asbestos even easier.
Remote site visits can be achieved through screen-share on Zoom/Teams with a 360 virtual walk-through and embedded asbestos data.
Asbestos Management Survey
This is an excellent way of highlighting all asbestos risks to your client or tenants, allowing easier management of asbestos risks. This can also be used to discuss any removal or repair actions identified during asbestos survey.
Asbestos Refurbishment and Pre-demolition Survey
Imagine a case where the Building Owner is located in London, the Project Manager is based in Edinburgh, the Supply Chain is centred in Glasgow and the Site is in Aberdeen.
Ordinarily, all stakeholders would travel to the site to discuss the project, whereas this system will allow an in-depth site-visit to be carried out remotely, saving on time, cost and, importantly, CO2 emissions.
Ask our sister company Damada 360 for more information on wider options around remote site visits and project management.
Asbestos within my property?
Our team have created this example to show some of the typical areas where asbestos can be found in domestic properties. With well over 4,000 uses for asbestos in the UK, this list is not exhaustive, however should serve as a demonstration for how to manage potential risks within your home.
The HSE also created this diagram for information purposes.
Following an Asbestos Survey, our team can carry out a 360 scan of the property and embed all asbestos data and sampling points into a virtual walk-through to show exactly where any asbestos risks are located and how to manage them.
