Our Solution
Unfortunately, demolition and redevelopment projects of yesteryear did not have to follow the same high control measures that today’s industry must follow, often resulting in harmful contaminants such as Asbestos, Heavy Metals and Oils being left behind from previous redevelopment. Such land contamination can be a costly and time-consuming obstacle to construction projects.
Cells are built to allow the safe removal of Japanese Knotweed from the soil once it has been removed from the development area. Contaminated soil must be kept isolated to ensure the invasive plant is removed safely without spreading to other areas of the site. Soil is continually sprayed with liquid to make sure that any potential hazardous materials are kept damp and within the soil so that it can be properly inspected.
Soil is then loaded into dumpers and taken to the sorting area. Our expert team then visually inspect the soil taken from the development area and separate the hazardous material from the uncontaminated soil (as this can be recycled and used within the re-development).
This process requires specialist knowledge and is time-consuming. However, it is essential in making sure that the construction site is safe for all users.
