The Houses of Parliament require instant evacuation due to urgent asbestos and leakage problems.
A restoration project will be taking place to tackle the following asbestos problems alongside another few issues totalling over £4billion.
“The roofs are leaking. The stonework is rotting. We need to do a great deal more in fire compartmentation,” according to Lord Lisvane, formerly the most senior Commons official.
The report by the parliamentary committee is set to suggest MPs should move to closeby buildings where they can. A Downing Street spokeswoman said: “We’re awaiting a report and will respond in due course.”
